Head Cold Haiku

Biting pre-Spring air
The snot in my nose
- it's frozen

Bag of cotton balls
Each and every one removed
Shoved into my brain

Indulgent softness
Extra kindness and care
My Kleenex

An endless Spring river
Pours from my eyes and nostrils
Where is the source?

My own snoring
- I wake up
Mouth so dry

I find myself laughing at this blog post. I love the author's writing style & poetry. :-)

Then the realization comes back to me that this is my oldest daughter who wrote this... 8 months pregnant with my 2nd grandchild & sick 'n miserable.

I find myself not laughing anymore. :-(

The comedy & the tragedy of it all.. laid at the altar of Dionysus!!!

Get well soon, baby girl.

hah yeah, I guess this is something we'll have to laugh at later, once it's a memory. It definitely helped while writing it though... bringing a little bit of levity to the situation, when there seemed to be no other alternative for relief. It was fun. :)

Thanks for the get well wishes. They're working!

About that snoring thing waking you up - Rob recorded me one night and played it back to me a minute later while I was still sleeping. I sat straight up and shouted "what the f*** was that?!" He thought it was the funniest thing ever...me, not so much.
